Effects of Specimen Thickness and Non-Isothermal Process on Creep Behavior of AA2024 Aluminum Alloy

Fiber metal laminate (FML) is a kind of lightweight material that has garnered much attention in recent years due to its excellent properties under tensile, flexure, and impact conditions. However, little been paid the evolution aluminum alloy during FML forming process. In this paper, effects specimen thickness non-isothermal process on creep behavior AA2024 alloy, which generally used FMLs, were systematically studied terms strain, mechanical properties, microstructure. The results show microstructure layer are greatly affected by age process, but effect experimental During strain generated heating stage about 40% total strain. Compared with isothermal increases 20–40%, apparent activation energy Qc larger. According constitutive model was established accurately simulate deformation FMLs.
